IBA Program vision and mission

VISION:

The BIBA Program at the Colleges of Applied Sciences (CAS) will help in the economic diversification drive of Oman and in taking Oman forward in the world, through its contribution to applied sciences by offering Business and tourism education consistent with Omani cultural values.

MISSION:

BIBA program's responsibilities are the creation and dissemination of Business and tourism knowledge through cooperation, practical orientation and collaboration with students, communities and businesses, which will help in the economic diversification endeavors of Oman.

We will provide students with a strong multicultural understanding and ethical values. BIBA program is dedicated to the development of the student as well rounded, responsible and informed citizen of Oman. We will continuously strive to attain national and international accreditation and standing (academic and competence) for the quality of our programs.

IBA Degree Graduates Attributes:

The key attributes are:

  • Citizenship – graduates have developed awareness and holistic understanding of their role as responsible citizens in an increasingly globalised context by acquiring the generic skills like teamwork and social responsibility.

  • Communication – graduates have excellent oral, aural, written, and electronic communication skills as well as numerical, technical and graphic communication skills.

  • Connectedness – graduates think globally and thrive locally by acquiring the generic skills such as flexibility and leadership

  • Critical thinking – graduates are able to engage real-world problems in a theoretically informed, rigorous, and questioning manner.

  • Personal practical Knowledge – Graduates are able to identify, retrieve, evaluate, use relevant information and current technologies to advance learning and execute work tasks by possessing the following skills

    • Creativity: Can conceive of imaginative and innovative responses to future orientated challenges and research.

    • Knowledge Base: Have an understanding of the broad theoretical and technical concepts related to their discipline area, with relevant connections to industry, professional, regional and indigenous knowledge

  • Commercial context – graduates recognise the importance of a broad understanding of the business environment and organisational context in which management decisions are made.
